The Oklahoma City RedHawks edged out a 1-0 win over the Las Vegas 51s in a pitcher's duel Thursday, snapping a seven-game losing streak in the process.
Jordan Lyles (5-0) was once again great for the RedHawks, pitching 6.2 innings, giving up eight hits and striking out six before hitting the bench. Tim Redding (0-3) pitched a solid outing as well, but was credited with a loss, allowing one earned run on four hits in six innings pitched.
The only earned run of the game came in the bottom of the third inning, thanks to a leadoff home run from Brett Wallace, his fourth of the season, giving the RedHawks the early lead.
Las Vegas was unable to generate much offense in the contest, advancing a runner to scoring position just four times in the contest, just twice reaching third.
Oklahoma City will try to spark a win streak at 7:05 p.m. Friday in the final game of the four-game series against Las Vegas.
