The Oklahoma City RedHawks dropped its fourth-straight game in an 8-4 decision against Omaha Monday afternoon on the road.
The Redhawks got on the board first thanks to a home run in the second by Mike Hessman, but the Stormchasers rallied to score six runs in the bottom of the third frame and another two in the fourth to take a lead that OKC couldn't compete with.
The first two innings went scoreless until the first batter in the top of the second, Mike Hessman, stepped to the plate and belted a home run ball to left field to put the Redhawks up 1-0.
An OKC throwing error in the third advanced Kurt Mertins from first to third, and then brought him around for the score after Terry Evans managed a single to left making it 1-1. Derrick Robinson lined one to right with two batters on to score Evans from third and go up 2-1.
Oklahoma City starter Paul Clemens then issued a walk to Johnny Giavotella to load the bases. David Lough stepped to the plate and crushed a long ball to right field for a grand slam to give Omaha a 6-1 advantage.
One inning later, the Stormchasers added two more runs off doubles by Evans and Giavotella to take an 8-1 lead.
OKC's Fernando Martinez doubled to left in the sixth to score Justin Ruggiano making it 8-2.
The RedHakwks loaded the bases in the seventh, but only managed two score two runs off a double by Ruggiano cutting the Stormchasers lead in half, but that would be all they could manage.
Clemens is credited with the loss for OKC after going 3.1 innings allowing 10 hits eight runs and two walks while striking out one.
Everett Teaford gets the win of Omaha pitching 5.1 innings with six strikeouts while allowing two runs.
OKC managed nine hits in the game to Omaha's 12.
The RedHawks return home for an eight-game home stand against Las Vegas and the Tucson Padres. First pitch against Las Vegas is scheduled for Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. in Oklahoma City.
