The Oklahoma City Barons came up short to San Antonio 6-4 on Thursday in game one of the Western Conference semifinals.
OKC was up by two goals twice in the game but couldn't closeout the game.
OKC went up 2-1 by the end of the first period. In the second, the Barons added two goals, one of those being from Josh Green who found the net at the 1:24 mark go go up 3-1. But the Rampage scored three of its own to tie the game 4-4 entering the final frame.
Late in the third, the Rampage took the lead. Michael Caruso scored one at the 15:21 mark, then Jon Matsumoto scored on a breakaway goal at 18:09 to put San Antonio up 6-4.
Marc Arcobello,Teemu Hartikainen, Hunter Tremblay and Josh Greeneach scored one goal for Oklahoma City on the night.
The Barons allowed two power play goals in the first game of the series. It also marked the first time in franchise history Oklahoma City dropped a playoff game when scoring at least four goals.
The best-of-seven series continues with game two on Saturday May 5 at 7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center.
