NORMAN, Oklahoma – With the way Keilani Ricketts had been pitching throughout the Sooners' game on Friday, it was only fitting that she also get to finish it off.
Ricketts once again played multiple roles for the Sooners in a 10-inning, 2-1 victory over the Missouri Tigers.
Not surprisingly, she threw the entire 10 innings of the game, allowing just one run and six hits while striking out 12.
But in the bottom of the 10th inning with the score tied at one, Ricketts found her way to first on an intentional walk.
Erica Sampson singled to center to advance Ricketts to second. And Georgia Casey did the honors, driving Ricketts home for a fitting end to what was largely a pitchers' duel.
OU got on the board first in the game, with a hard-earned fifth inning run. After Jessica Vest pinch ran for Katie Norris, she worked her way around the bases until she reached third.
Destinee Martinez singled to bring Vest home to break scoreless drought from both teams to start the game.
Missouri responded with a solo homer from Ashley Fleming in the sixth to knot things right back up.
Ricketts moved to 21-5 on the year and helped the fifth-ranked Sooners improve to 37-6 (12-3 Big 12).
The No. 10 Tigers fell to 33-9 (10-6).
The two teams will continue their series on Saturday at 2 p.m.
