NORMAN, Oklahoma – There was no better way for the Sooners to send the Missouri Tigers off to the SEC.
OU completed a sweep of the Tigers on Sunday - its first series sweep against them since 2006 – with a 5-4 home victory.
For the third straight game, the Missouri Tigers took the first lead in the contest. Ben Turner doubled off OU starter Jonathan Gray in the top of the third inning to drive in two quick runs.
But for the third straight game, the Sooners quickly came back to take the lead.
In the bottom of the same inning, Erik Ross put up one of his four hits on the day (a career high) to bring home Garrett Carey.
Max White pulled off an RBI double to tie up the game and another plated run in the inning gave Oklahoma a quick 3-2 lead.
In the next inning, Carey brought home Evan Mistich with a groundout to increase the lead to 4-2.
And OU's fifth run of the game in the seventh inning put it out of reach for good.
Jonathan Gray picked up the win on the mound for Oklahoma, giving up five hits and two runs in 5.2 innings.
OU will return to Oral Roberts on Tuesday night for a 6:30 p.m. game.
