After losing three straight games, the Oklahoma Sooners notched a shutout of Arkansas Tuesday night on the home field with a 4-0 final score.
Max White paced OU with two hits and two RBI while Damien Magnifico got the start on the mound for the Sooners and pitched a career high 8 2/3 innings while allowing only three hits.
Oklahoma got on the board in the bottom of the first after Caleb Bushyhead knocked a double, then White also managed a double to score Bushyhead and take an early 1-0 lead.
White added his second two-out RBI double of the game in the fifth inning to boost OU a 3-0 advantage.
In the bottom of the seventh the Sooners scored again after a wild pitch scored Erik Ross from third making it 4-0.
Magnifico got the win for OU and improves to 1-0 in his second start of the season. He allowed three hits and struck out three on the night before Steven Okert came in to close the game in the final inning with two strikeouts to help OU to victory.
Arkansas' Dominic Ficociello paced the Razorbacks with two hits.
Oklahoma improves to 19-14 while Arkansas dropped to 24-8.
The Sooners will return to the field for a three game series as they host Missouri with game one set for Friday at 6:30 p.m.
