Jerome Ersland Fires His Attorney

The pharmacist convicted of killing a teenager inside an Oklahoma City pharmacy has fired his attorney.

According to attorney Irven Box, he received a letter from his client, Jerome Ersland, on Tuesday stating that he has fired him.

Ersland was convicted in 2011 of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. An appeal was filed in March.

In 2009, Ersland shot 16-year-old Antwun Parker once in the head during an attempted robbery at Reliable Pharmacy. Ersland then got a second gun and shot him five more times.

He says he was protecting himself and his co-workers, but prosecutors say he went too far.
