STILLWATER, Oklahoma – Everything came together in two innings for the Cowboys on Tuesday night, and luckily it wasn't too late.
Though OSU trailed most of the game against Arkansas-Little Rock, an impressive comeback late in the game lifted the Cowboys to a 9-7 victory.
Oklahoma State actually got on the board first with an RBI from Robbie Rea in the bottom of the first.
And the two teams traded two runs each in the fourth inning, allowing the Cowboys to keep their margin at 3-2.
A big top of the sixth for Arkansas-Little Rock put OSU in a bit of a hole. Three UALR runs resulted in a Cowboy pitching change partway through and put them down 5-3.
But it was all about the timing for the Cowboys, who finally found their bats in the seventh and eighth inning, putting up a combined six runs.
It started in the seventh with RBIs from Jared Womack and Robbie Rea. Then Mark Ginther singled to bring Womack home.
In the eighth, pinch runner Aaron Cornell and Gage Green both found the plate on a single from Jarrett Higgins. Womack drove home yet another run to seal the final margin.
Higgins and Womack each record two RBIs in the game while Bailey and Green scored two runs apiece.
Gabe Weidenaar got the victory on the mound for the Cowboys, throwing two innings and giving up two hits and a run. Vince Wheeland started the game for OSU and gave up six hits in five innings.
Bubba Cooper got the loss for UALR, which fell to 15-10.
The Cowboys (14-11) will start a three-game series against the Baylor Bears on Friday in Waco, Texas. First pitch on Friday is set for 6:35 p.m.
