The Oklahoma Sooners were engaged in a pitcher's duel with the Baylor Bears Sunday, but a late-game error gave the Bears a 1-0 win, costing Oklahoma a chance at the series sweep.
Both Baylor and Oklahoma trotted out their aces, with Courtney Repka taking the circle for the Bears and Keilani Ricketts pitching for Oklahoma. Repka (9-3) received a win for her work, pitching a complete game, giving up just four hits and striking out four.
Ricketts (13-4) pitched a great game as well, going all six inning for Oklahoma, giving up five hits and just one run, an unearned run in the fifth. BU's Kathy Shelton hit a leadoff single and two at-bats later, both outs, she stole second to move into scoring position.
In the next at-bat, Holly Hall hit the ball back to second base and should have been thrown out at first, but an error by freshman Georgia Casey was off, allowing Hall to reach and Shelton to score.
Oklahoma will be back in action at 7:30 p.m. for one of three Bedlam games, taking on Oklahoma State in Oklahoma City.
