Death Of 12-Year-Old Cordell Boy Ruled A Homicide

The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner has ruled the death of a young boy in Cordell a homicide.

The Medical Examiner's office says 12-year-old Lane Madison died of head and neck injuries and blunt force.

According to police, on January 11, Madison got into an altercation with a 13-year-old boy in the lower level of the First Baptist Church near College and First Street.

Witnesses told investigators Lane's head hit the floor during the fight. The floor consisted of a thin layer of carpet over concrete. Lane was rushed to a hospital where he later died.
