The Oklahoma State Cowboys avoided back-to-back losses Saturday and picked up their seventh conference win of the season, knocking off the Texas A&M Aggies 60-42 at home.
The Cowboys blew a big first half lead and led by just three at halftime, but blew up the Aggies in the opening minutes of the second half to take a commanding lead. Oklahoma State outscored TAMU 17-5 early in the second half, including eight from Brian Williams, to take a 46-31 lead with 12:48 on the clock.
It seemed from that point on, the Aggies were unable to get any sort of momentum going, scoring just nine points in the closing 12 minutes of the game, while Oklahoma Sate managed 14 to close out the win.
Oklahoma State got three big performances from its starting guards in the win. Williams, a redshirt freshman, set the pace for Oklahoma State, scoring 17 points, grabbing five rebounds and dishing out two assists in the win. Keiton Page was big as well, finishing with 15 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals, with Markel Brown adding 12 points and five rebounds.
Khris Middleton was the big number for the Aggies, scoring 14 points and grabbing four boards in the loss, with David Loubeau contributing 10 points and seven rebounds.
The Cowboys will be back in action in a Big Monday matchup, taking on the Kansas Jayhawks in the late game at 8 p.m. in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
