COLUMBIA, Missouri – The phrase "live and die by the 3" has never been more relevant.

A barrage of 3-pointers early in the second half lifted the OSU Cowgirls to a 62-58 win in against Missouri in a bizarre game Saturday in Columbia.

Oklahoma State only connected on eight field goals in the entire second half – and seven of them came from beyond the arc.

It was still enough to lift them from a narrow halftime advantage of 32-30.

The lone non-3 came with 12:18 remaining in the second half, a jumper from Kendra Suttles to put OSU up 49-39 at that point.

A few minutes later, a 3-pointer from Tiffany Bias gave the Cowgirls a 55-48 with 9:35 to play, but that would be OSU's final field goal of the game.

Over the final nine minutes, the Cowgirls used a remarkable defensive effort to hold the Tigers to just seven points in that span.

OSU hit a couple of free throws – just enough to stay ahead despite the scoring drought. It was the Cowgirls' first conference road win since 2010.

Neither team shot well in the game but they were remarkably similar, with Oklahoma State shooting 34.5 percent and Missouri shooting 34.6 percent.

The Cowgirls used a balanced scoring attack to hold on for the win, as Lindsey Keller and Liz Donohoe each scored 13 points and hit three 3-pointers. Tiffany Bias had 12 points and forward Toni Young added 10.

Christine Flores led the Tigers with 20 points, including four 4-pointers of her own.

The victory evens up the Cowgirls at 3-3 in conference play, and 11-4 overall.

Missouri remained winless in Big 12 play at 0-5 (10-6 overall).

OSU will return home to face No. 13 Texas A&M at Gallagher-Iba Arena on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. tip.
