After a meeting in an online chat room, agents from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation arrested an Ada man on Wednesday, December 21, for possession of child pornography.
Members of the California Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force started the investigation. Agents said Jimmy Lee Pitman, 58, approached a detective in a Yahoo chat room and requested an exchange of child pornography.
Investigators tracked Pitman to Ada through his internet activity. They contacted the Oklahoma ICAC Task Force. OSBI agents then obtained a search warrant, went to Pitman's house and searched his computer. They found several images of children in sexual situations.
Agents also seized several computer-related items so they could further examine them for more illegal images.
Pitman was booked into the Pontotoc County Jail for possession of child pornography and violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act. His bond was set at $50,000.
