NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma linebacker Londell Taylor was arrested Saturday night for driving under the influence after an auto accident at Classen and Constitution in Norman, Oklahoma, east of the University of Oklahoma Campus.
According to the affidavit, Taylor fled the scene of the accident after rear-ending another driver, and was later stopped at Lindsey and Lincoln. Taylor then admitted to the officer that he had consumed six beers and agreed to field sobriety tests. The officer states that in addition to a strong smell of alcohol, Taylor struggled with instructions on the tests and was taken into custody.
Taylor was released on a $1,000 bond Monday.
The 23-year-old freshman is a walk-on for the Sooners after playing baseball in the Detroit Tigers organization for the past four seasons. Taylor was originally a member of the 2007 recruiting class out of Vian, Oklahoma after catching 47 passes for more than 1,100 yards and 16 touchdowns.
