MOORE, Oklahoma – There are tough losses, and then there are games that are really hard to swallow.
Thursday night was one of those nights for Southmoore that was hard to swallow.
Meanwhile, Muskogee was able to celebrate a stunning victory in a 34-31 win against the SaberCats.
The Roughers and SaberCats entered overtime tied at 28.
Southmoore started off the overtime period with a field goal, and when Muskogee took over the dramatics came into play.
The Roughers elected to go for it on 4th-and-2, looking to secure the win rather than forcing another overtime period.
Muskogee's play was stopped short of the goal line, but the play was called back because of a Southmoore timeout that had occurred before the ball was snapped.
After the team's reset, Muskogee's Raundell Cooper ran it again and this time found his way into the end zone to secure the overtime win.
Cooper had three touchdowns on the day as Muskogee improved to 1-3 on the year.
The Roughers will host Broken Arrow next weekend while Southmoore (1-3) will travel to Sapulpa.
