OSU's Sharp Named Big 12 Player Of The Week

IRVING, Texas – Following Oklahoma State's big win over Louisiania-Lafayette Saturday, kicker Quinn Sharp was named the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week.

Sharp handled all of the Cowboys kicking and punting duties Saturday in its 61-34 victory.

He went 4-for-4 on field goals and 6-for-6 on extra points. Sharp converted field goals from 46, 27, 23 and 22 yards out and also had seven touchbacks on Cowboy kickoffs.

The 6-foot-1 junior from Masfield, Tx. Averaged 50 yards on two punts, including one downed inside the 20 yard line as well as a 52-yard punt.

Sharp was a co-recipient of this week's conference honor as Baylor's Aaron Jones was also named the Special Teams Player of the Week.

The honor is the first for Sharp, who led the nation in touchbacks on kickoffs the previous two seasons. Sharp was singled out as the College Football Performance Awards National Placekicker and National Kickoff Specialist of the Week for his efforts against the Ragin' Cajuns.

Baylor's Robert Griffin III was named this week's conference Offensive Player of the Week while Texas A&M's Tony Jerod-Eddie was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

The Cowboys return to action Thursday against Arizona at 7p.m.
