TULSA, Oklahoma – The Tulsa Drillers couldn't keep up with the Arkansas Travelers offensively on Saturday night, dropping a 9-4 home decision.
Both teams started off strong, with Arkansas taking a quick 2-0 lead on a two-run homer from Gabe Jacobo.
But the Drillers responded immediately as Tim Wheeler homered in the bottom of the first and Bronson Sardinha drove in another run to knot the game.
Wheeler did it again in the seventh inning, racking up his 26th homer of the season and driving in another two runs.
But his efforts were not enough as the Travelers simply outproduced the Drillers in the batting category, racking up 12 hits to Tulsa's six.
Christian Friedrich picked up the loss for Tulsa, giving up nine hits and five runs.
Tulsa has dropped two of three games to Arkansas and will look to even the current series at 7:05 p.m. on Sunday.
