73-Year-Old Man Drowns At Lake Texoma

DURANT, Oklahoma -- A Texas man drown Friday afternoon while swimming in Lake Texoma.

A report of the incident from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said James Thompson, 73, from Frisco, Texas, drowned at Beach View Beach in Marshall County.

Trooper dispatched to assist reported finding the victim's boat anchored 50 feet offshore.  The victim left the boat to swim to shore.

The victim's body was recovered in nine feet of water 50 feet from shore at about 4 p.m.
