EDMOND, Oklahoma – The City of Edmond has ended its mandatory water rationing program Thursday afternoon.
The city implemented the odd/even watering program less than two weeks ago due to extreme heat and large amount of water usage. However, because of the recent rainfall, as well as the Overholser water treatment plant returning to service today for Oklahoma City, Edmond decided to end its mandatory watering program.
"We received word from Oklahoma City about 4 p.m. today that they were suspending the mandatory rationing. Edmond residents can now go back to our original voluntary water conservation schedule," said Ashleigh Clark, City of Edmond Public Information Officer.
Residents are now asked to follow the voluntary water conservation schedule.
