ORLANDO, Florida -- Casey Anthony will be released from Orange County Jail Sunday, July 17; four days later than originally thought.
A judge in Orlando, Florida, sentenced Anthony Thursday morning to four years in jail to be served consecutively. That's one year for each of her convictions for lying to police. However, she received credit for the time she has already spent in jail.
Original reports indicated Anthony would get out of jail Wednesday, July 13, but Orange County corrections officials said late Thursday they'd recalculated her release date. With credit for time served and good behavior, she'll walk out of jail July 17.
Anthony, 25, was acquitted Tuesday of murdering her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. She was convicted of four misdemeanor counts of lying to investigators.
The defense tried to argue Thursday morning that Anthony told "one, continuous lie" and should not have been charged four separate times. But Judge Belvin Perry ruled there were four, distinctive lies. He said she lied about working at Universal Studios, she lied about leaving her child with the babysitter she called "Zanny," she lied about telling two Universal Studios employees about Caylee's disappearance, and she lied about receiving a call and speaking to Caylee.
The judge also fined Anthony $1,000 for each count of lying to investigators.
