So itll be Josh Heupel who will call the plays now in Norman. Bob Stoops gives the most criticized responsibility in Oklahoma to the Boy Genious. I like it...and heres why.

Not only did the Assassin from Aberdeen show exceptional leadership skills as a player, guide OU to a National Championship, then serve as primary molder for the tremendous development of Paul Thompson, Sam Bradford and Landry Jones....but also, hes LEFT-HANDED!

Perfect. Isnt that exactly what you want in a play caller...someone who thinks slightly differently than everybody else. Its a proven fact that lefties are more creative.

Let me just say this. I am right-handed. But Ive always been jealous of lefties. Im trapped in the right-handed box of logic. Lefties are all over the map. Think about it. Only 10% of the people in America are lefties, and yet a vastly disproportionate number of our Presidents and the worlds most influential leaders and athletes have been left-handed.

Harry Truman, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, David Letterman, Jay Leno, Paul McCartney, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Robert DeNiro, Robert Redford, Jerry Seinfeld, Oprah Winfrey, Pele, Mark Spitz, Wayman Tisdale, Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe, Rod Laver, Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth and Ted Williams...all lefties.

Obviously, Im a little tongue in cheek here (left cheek). But in all seriousness...you want your OC to be a little out of the box, thinking against the norm, swimming against the current. Im eager to see if Heupels creativity is "right" what the doctor ordered...or "left."
