CHICKASHA, Oklahoma -- Cash, checks and gaming machines taken during an illegal gambling raid will be returned.
In 2006, authorities raided the Chickasha Elks Lodge and former Sheriff Kieran McMullen and a number of others deputies and police officers were busted. Authorities took eight gaming machines and more than $7,000 in cash and checks.
The items and money are all being returned to the lodge because Bret Burns, the District Attorney at the time, did not file forfeiture papers in time.
