OKLAHOMA CITY – Fresh off her election as Oklahoma's first female governor, U.S. Rep. Mary Fallin appeared with outgoing Gov. Brad Henry at the state Capitol Wednesday afternoon.
Henry and Fallin discussed the transition process and other related issues. Fallin will be inaugurated in January.
Fallin won 60 percent of the vote Tuesday to beat her Democratic foe, Lt. Gov. Jari Askins. Fallin will replace Henry, a Democrat who was term-limited.
Republicans swept all eight statewide races on the ballot.
Fallin says that her focus will be on working to create jobs in Oklahoma and controlling government spending. She says she's "deeply humbled and grateful" for the opportunity to lead the state during what she says is a key time in its history.
