OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma City Public School Board has voted to fire a teacher for the second time.
In May of 2009, the school board voted to fire Joseph Quigley, citing poor performance. The former Northwest Classen High School teacher claimed he was fired because he supported anti-discrimination policies for gay students.
In August of last year, a judge ordered him to be reinstated. The district appealed that decision. However, earlier this month, a civil appeals court judge upheld the ruling. The district announced they will appeal that decision again.
Quigley will remain teaching in the classroom during the appeals process. He's now teaching at Douglass High School.
