OKLAHOMA CITY -- State legislators are pushing for new laws against sharing sexually explicit photos and videos between teens, also known as "sexting."
The move comes as three Texhoma boys face felony charges for sharing a naked picture of a girlfriend.
If convicted, they could be required to register as sex offenders for the rest of their lives. They were under 18 at the time, but Oklahoma's child pornography laws don't distinguish between adults and minors.
Representative Anastasia Pittman is spearheading an effort to change that. She said she's optimistic lawmakers can make changes so the punishment fits the crime in the next legislative session.
