OKLAHOMA CITY -- Authorities said a plane crashed at the Sundance Airpark in the northwest metro after making an emergency landing.
Officials said the plane lost power and the pilot couldn't make it to the runway. The pilot tried to put the plane down gently in a field before realizing there was a road in his path. The plane crossed over N.W. 122nd Street then crashed through a fence. The plane's landing gears also collapsed during the landing. The aircraft finally skidded to a stop on Sundance tarmac.
The pilot and passenger were not injured. However, authorities said the aircraft was a heavily damaged.
The plane was a 1949 North American T-28 that was restored to resemble a WWII military airplane.
Records showed the plane belonged to a Yukon man.
The Sundance Airpark was closed Thursday night while the FAA worked to complete it's investigation.
