OKLAHOMA CITY -- Remington Park’s racing weekend begins Friday night with the first race at 6:30 p.m.
Jockey Tim Doocy, will return to the races for the first time this year, making a comeback from injury sustained this summer at Prairie Meadows in Iowa.
Doocy became the 25th jockey in horse racing history to win more than 5,000 races. He achieved the feat at Oaklawn Park in Arkansas in April of this year.
Doocy if a five-time leading rider at Remington Park and still holds the record for most wins in one season with 127 in 1997. He’ll ride in Friday’s second race on Bigboy Ryan. Bigboy Ryan is owned by Toby Keith’s Dream Walkin Farms of Norman and trained by Kenny Smith.
Remington Park also races Saturday at 6:30 p.m., Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and Monday at 6:30 p.m.
The 21st running of the Oklahoma Derby takes place Sunday, October 11.
