Scattered showers and thunderstorms were expected across Texas and the Southeast on Monday, along with possibly severe isolated thunderstorms across the Central and Southern Plains. The front stretching across the Southeast was expected to produce the most rainfall and strongest storms over Louisiana and the Lower Mississippi Valley. In the West, an area of low pressure from eastern Wyoming through eastern New Mexico was to bring the risk of thunderstorms through the afternoon and evening. Cool temperatures and light showers were forecast for the Northwest coast, along with scattered, strong and severe thunderstorms from the Northern High Plains to the Northern Plains. Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Sunday ranged from a low of 30 degrees at Mammoth, Calif., to a high of 113 degrees at Thermal, Calif.
