The top point guard selected in the NBA draft wasn't the Spaniard with the mop top, but the hard edged freshman from Memphis.
After starting the year at the two-guard spot for the Tigers, Tyreke Evans transitioned seamlessly into the point guard role to finish the year, showing off his versatility and potential. He was magnificent in the NCAA tournament, showing NBA teams he can perform when the lights are the brightest.
Evans' best attributes are his size, strength and athleticism. His quickness and huge wingspan could make him a nightmare defender for some of the league's top point guards. He relies on his athleticism and strength to score in bunches, but he is otherwise unpolished and will need plenty of work to be an effective shooter and scorer in the league.
