Ongoing rainfall, thunderstorms and possibly severe weather was expected across the Mid-and Upper Mississippi Valley and Great Lakes on Monday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms were also expected along a front dipping into the South, also bringing cooler temperatures. Cold air and moisture over the Great Basin and Northern Rockies was to yield to areas of rain and snow showers with pockets of thunderstorms. Elsewhere, showers and thunderstorms were forecast across southern Florida. Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Sunday ranged from a low of 28 degrees at Grand Canyon, Ariz., to a high of 103 degrees at Pecos, Texas.
