Mounted Patrol Unit to Perform in Parade

TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office Mounted Patrol Unit will march next month in President-elect Barack Obama's inaugural parade.

Members of the unit will join representatives from across the country and the U.S. Armed Forces in the 56th inaugural parade down Pennsylvania Avenue following Obama's swearing-in ceremony on the steps of the Capitol.

Organizations wanting to participate in the parade applied to the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee, which then assisted the Presidential Inaugural Committee in reviewing the applications.

Nearly 1,400 groups applied.
