Windy Sunday

A Wind Advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. for most of the state Sunday, as Northwest winds will gust to 40 mph at times.  Sustained winds will be in the 15 to 30 mph range.

The windy conditions are a result of a strong low pressure system moving through the Midwest Sunday.  Oklahoma is currently positioned on the backside of the system, meaning strong Northwest winds are rushing through the Plains. 

Colder air comes with these Northwest winds, and wind chills will stay in the 20's and 30's Sunday. 

Monday will still be chilly, but not quite as windy or quite as cold, but Tuesday will be much warmer than average for early December.  Afternoon highs will be about 10 to 15 degrees above average highs for the first week of December, in the 60's and 70's!  But the unseasonably warm weather will be short-lived as another punch of seasonably cold air will move in early Wednesday with our next cold front.
