Wanted woman turns herself in, police catch man

HOUSTON -- Mary Harris has turned herself in and is in jail in Montgomery County, near Houston, and Steven Redmond was arrested in Del Rio, Texas Thursday according to Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown.

Brown said Harris and Redmond allegedly drove to the Houston area to visit a friend. The friend knew the two were wanted for something and told them she was turning them in. Redmond said he was going to Mexico and left. Harris turned herself in to authorities.

Harris and Redmond are wanted for an alleged carjacking where one man was shot near Interstate 35 last week.

According to Brown, the U.S. Attorney is now handling the prosecution and because of that Harris will not be brought to Oklahoma.
