Authorties are investigating a bizzare case of animal cruelty in the metro. A rattlesnake was found with its mouth sewn shut.
The animal was found and given to the Oklahoma City Animal shelter.
"We see alot of malicious acts on wildlife. Having this done to a rattlesnake, this a first for us and it's deplorable," said Rondi Large, director of the WildCare Foundation, a nonprofit animal hospital and health care facility for wild animals in Oklahoma.
WildCare's vets said they removed the stitches around its mouth and found the snake was also missing its fangs. The vets said the snake is not eating, but they are hoping for the best.
If the snake does become healthy again, the animal will be released back into the wild, WildCare officials said.
