Cold front moving across Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Temperatures are tumbling across Oklahoma as a blast of Arctic air pushes its way into the state, bringing the threat of icy conditions.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory today that will continue until tomorrow for roughly the northern two-thirds of the state.

Weather Service meteorologist Kevin Brown says there could be enough freezing rain and drizzle to cause some problems on bridges and overpasses.

Temperatures were in the 20s late this afternoon, reaching 25 degrees in Guymon, 27 in Gage and 28 in Alva. Temperatures across most of central Oklahoma were in the mid 30s this afternoon.

By Saturday, the forecast calls for a return of southerly winds and warmer conditions, with daytime highs climbing into the 50s across much of the state. Even milder conditions are expected Sunday, with daytime highs reaching into the 60s.
