Tulsa to face Bowling Green in GMAC Bowl

MOBILE, Ala. - Look for another basketball-like final score in the GMAC Bowl.

Tulsa is 9-4 and brings the nation's top offense into tomorrow night's game, and Bowling Green is no slouch, either. The game that once produced the highest scoring bowl has all the makings for another offensive shootout.

Oddsmakers set the over/under at 76 points, 15 more than today's International Bowl and four touchdowns more than Monday night's national championship game.

The Golden Hurricane's offense averages 543 yards per game.

TU has a good shot at making NCAA history even if the game doesn't approach the 125-point scoring festival Marshall and East Carolina engaged in back in the 2001 GMAC Bowl. TU could become the first team in NCAA history to have a 5,000-yard passer, a 1,000-yard rusher and three 1,000-yard receivers.

Meanwhile, Bowling Green is 8-4 and leads the Mid-American Conference in passing offense.

Led by senior quarterback Paul Smith, TU is seeking its first 10-win season since 1991.
