Oklahoma center, Paterno inducted into Hall of Fame

NEW YORK - A former Oklahoma standout shares the stage with Penn State coach Joe Paterno and former NFL stars Doug Flutie and Ahmad Rashad as inductees into the College Football Hall of Fame.

During the 1971-1972 season, Tom Brahaney was front and center -- literally -- for the Sooners and was considered the hub of 1 of the most successful offenses in college football history.

In the 1971 "Game of the Century" with Nebraska, the match up between Brahaney and Cornhusker middle guard Rich Glover was the featured one-on-one match up of the contest.

That year Brahaney was an all-Big Eight Conference and consensus All-America. As a senior, he was a finalist for the Lombardi Award and repeated as a consensus All-America choice.

Brahaney spent nine seasons with the Saint Louis Cardinals.

The induction ceremony took place in New York City last night.
