OSU, OU players named to Wallace Award watch list

IRVING, Texas - Two Oklahoma State Cowboys and an Oklahoma Sooner are on the preseason watch list for the 2008 Brooks Wallace Award.

The award is named after the late Texas Tech shortstop and assistant coach Brooks Wallace and is given to the top collegiate baseball player in the nation.

OSU first baseman Rebel Ridling and shortstop-pitcher Jordy Mercer and OU catcher-infielder Aaron Baker are among those on the list.

Twelve semifinalists will be chose in May and the three finalists will be selected after the NCAA Super Regionals. The winner will be announced July 3rd.
