A key witness in the case against State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister, resigns from his position at a top state education group.
We know that Hofmeister holds, or at least during her 2014 campaign held Ryan Owens in high regard.
Yesterday evening he resigned as executive director of the Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration.
In an email listed in charged documents, Hofmeister said in part " I trust you 100%. Jerry and I appreciate your fierce loyalty, your expertise, talent, intellect, integrity, and broad experience."
Hofmeister is charged with violating campaign laws limiting contributions to candidates and prohibiting contributions by corporations. She also faces two counts of conspiracy to commit felony.
Ryan Owens' is listed as a witness in the case against Joy Hofmeister.
The former executive director of the organization, Steven Crawford was also charged with conspiracy in this case.
