Emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash involving a pickup and a Choctaw Public School bus in far southeast Oklahoma City, Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities tell News 9 at least one person has been reported injured in the crash that occurred near SE 44th St. and Indian Meridian Rd., just to the east of Tinker Air Force Base.
Students were on the bus at the time of the crash. The pickup had extensive front-end damage, but the school appeared to be unscathed. First responders report one child was injured, treated at the scene and released.
Authorities have shut down SE 44th St. in both directions while crews work the scene. Police tell News 9 that parents may come to the scene to get their child after they notify police they are doing so. The school is working on getting another bus there to get the rest of the kids home. The driver is not being arrested, but has been issued tickets at the scene.
