Family and friends celebrated Aubrey McClendon's life at the Chesapeake Boathouse Saturday morning.
The state medical examiner confirmed Friday, March 5 that McClendon died of "multiple blunt force trauma, in a fiery car crash on Wednesday, March 2.
The crash came the day after he was indicted on federal conspiracy charges.

McClendon was part owner of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and he helped start Chesapeake Energy, and American Energy Partners.
Saturday, March 5, the Chesapeake Boathouse honored his memory with a traditional sunrise paddle out in recognition of his impact on the organization, the development of the river, and the momentum of Oklahoma City.
McClendon will also be honored in a seperate service on Monday, March 7 at 10 a.m. at Crossing Community Church in NW Oklahoma City.
