A Cyril High School teacher and her husband were arrested in Oklahoma City, after police said they abused the man’s son by choking him, tying him to a chair, and making him swallow peroxide and soap.
According to police, the child abuse report was made in Broomfield, Colorado, on August 2 by the child’s biological mother. The mother told police that her three sons went to visit their father, 36-year-old Tony Zeno, from June 2 to August 1 in Oklahoma City. She said when they returned, she noticed her 10-year-old son looked much thinner.
The victim reportedly told his mother that he had suffered numerous incidents of physical abuse while in the care of Zeno and Zeno’s wife, 36-year-old Tamara Zeno. The victim said Tony Zeno choked him, and that Tamara Zeno zip-tied him to a chair. He said he was forced to sleep like that.
The victim said the two forced him to swallow peroxide and soap. He said Tamara Zeno also hit him with a golf club.
Tony and Tamara Zeno have been booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on complaints of child abuse, enabling child abuse and child neglect.
The police report also states that Tamara Zeno works for Cyril High School. We checked the high school’s online staff directory, and as of Wednesday, Tamara is still listed as an 8th grade speech and drama teacher.
News 9 has reached out to Cyril High School, but school officials have yet to release a statement.
