One suspect is in custody after leading police on a high-speed chase through the southwest side of the metro following a bank robbery on Tuesday.
The bank robbery occurred around 11 a.m. at the First Bethany Bank, near SW 29th St. and S. Meridian Ave. and ended near S. Post Rd. and SE 59th St.
The suspect, who has since been identified as 23-year-old Trevor Wilson, walked into the bank wearing a black head covering, a mask over his face, a black jacket and blue jeans. Wilson, who bank employees say was carrying a firearm, approached a teller and demanded cash.
The teller complied and Wilson fled the bank in a white Dodge pickup with a duffle bag containing the stolen money. Soon after police spotted the pickup and the chase began.
During the chase Wilson wrecked into a few bystanders’ vehicles. It is unclear if anyone in those cars was injured.
The case is still under investigation by OKC Police and the Oklahoma City FBI.
The Oklahoma Bankers Association offers up to a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Please contact the Oklahoma City FBI at (405) 290-7770 with any information related to this incident.
