OKLAHOMA CITY -- A local server is getting extra attention thanks to a Facebook photo that's going viral. The story takes us to the Joe's Crab Shack on Northwest Expressway in Oklahoma City.

It was last Friday night a couple went to the restaurant but refused to leave the waitress a tip. The customer took a photo of the receipt and posted it on Facebook for others to see.

The receipt shows the total cost of the dinner was $71.23 and no gratuity. Instead, the customer wrote “Find Sour Cream” because the restaurant was out.

After seeing this post online, an outraged family member shared it on his own Facebook page.

“I confronted my cousin about them bragging about the rudeness on Facebook”, wrote Dustin Clark.

Clark said after work, he went to the restaurant and delivered a card, $20 and an apology to the server. He's now encouraging others to do the same and so far his post on Facebook has been shared by hundreds in the metro.

Clark has received positive feedback on his page.

“We need more people like you who do the right thing. I was a server before who dealt with people like that”, said Melissa Herbert.

“That was the most wonderful thing you did for that waitress”, wrote Joyce Persson.

Not everyone agrees.

David W. on Twitter wrote us and said, “So a guy gets shamed for not leaving a tip when the service was subpar? I worked food service myself, but also knew a tip wasn't an entitlement.”

News 9 is not naming the customer who left no tip because we haven't been able to reach him for his side of the story.
