A high-speed chase that began in northeast Oklahoma City ended in a violent crash in the intersection of Lincoln and Sheridan avenues, Thursday afternoon.
Police began pursuing a red Nissan pickup truck near NE 36th St and Grand Blvd. for reckless driving. The pursuit weaved around Eastern Ave., NE 4th St., Reno Ave. and I-35, in parts reaching speeds or nearly 120 miles per hour.
The suspect was heading northbound on Lincoln Blvd. when he collided with a black minivan that was westbound on Sheridan Ave. The suspect's pickup T-boned the minivan and then careened into two other vehicles, a silver sedan and a white SUV, stopped at the light in the southbound lanes of Lincoln Blvd.
Three people were transferred to the hospital for injuries suffered in the crash, however, none appear to be life-threatening and all are listed in good condition.
One suspect is in custody. That person's identity has not been released at this time.
Two EMSA units responded to the scene. Traffic was diverted in the area while crews worked to clear the scene.
Later Thursday evening, a spokesperson with the Department of Public Safety tells News 9 that a report confirms that the vehicle was reported stolen.
