The Cleveland Browns released former Oklahoma State quarterback Brandon Weeden on Wednesday, General Manager Ray Farmer announced.
Weeden threw for 1,731 yards, nine touchdowns and nine interceptions in 2013 – his second with the Browns. Cleveland drafted Weeden with the 22nd pick in the 2012 draft.
"The Browns would like to thank Brandon and his agent for being true professionals," Farmer said in a press release. "The circumstances in which he found himself were not easy for him or the team. After discussions with Brandon and his agent, we'd like to give him the ability to pursue other opportunities."
