Police bust a convicted felon at an Oklahoma City gun show as he tries to sell guns.
Officers say Richard Carlton Britt, 49, admitted he knew he wasn't supposed to be doing it.
It all came down to some very observant off-duty Oklahoma City police officers who were working security for the gun show in town over the weekend. They say Britt came to the fairgrounds to try and sell a 9 millimeter pistol.
The off-duty officers ran Britt's information through a background check and found out Britt is a convicted felon. That's when they called in police to take over.
Britt has burglary and concealing stolen property convictions from the 1980s. When questioned, Britt told officers he was "only in prison for 9 and 1/2 months and it was so long ago, he thought they had pardoned it."
Britt was never pardoned for the convictions. He was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
