He's turning one! The Oklahoma City Zoo is hosting a party to celebrate the zoo's youngest gorilla's first birthday on Valentine's Day, and you are invited to join the celebrations.
The gorilla named Leom was born on February 14, 2013. Zoo officials say they will host a birthday celebration from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Valentine's Day, February 14, at the Zoo's Great EscApe, which is located inside the Interpretative Center.

Festivities include birthday presents and treats for Leom and his gorilla family, and craft activities for children. Also, guests will enjoy mini cupcakes courtesy of Cuppies and Joe while they last.
Leom's party is free with zoo admission.

Party goers will also have an opportunity to purchase a special gorilla adoption package from ZooFriends during the birthday celebration. You can donate $45 to become a gorilla guardian. The donation will help supply the zoo with important funding for health, enrichment and the nutritional needs of all the animals, including Leom and his gorilla family, according to zoo officials.
Adoption packages include a plush gorilla, an adoption certificate and an animal fact sheet. Animal adoptions do not include personal possession of any zoo animals.
The zoo is open daily from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.. The exhibit buildings close at 4:45 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults, and $5 for children ages three to 11 and seniors age 65 and over. Children two and under are admitted free.
