Limited funding for propane assistance in low-income households will be available to eligible applicants under the Energy Crisis Assistance Program (ECAP).
Starting Tuesday, Feb. 4, propane users in low-income households will have the opportunity to submit an application to the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) for propane assistance.

ECAP applications will go through the same process as applying for standard assistance. Eligibility is based on an applicant's income and assets.
The propane assistance funding will come from multiple areas including $4 million being released to the state of Oklahoma by the federal government and an additional $600,000 donated from utility companies. Applications will be accepted and processed until there is no more funding.
ECAP, part of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, will assist by providing eligible applicants one payment per household.
