A fire destroyed a home in northwest Oklahoma City Tuesday night.
According to the fire department, crews responded to the fire just before 10 p.m. Tuesday at a two-story home, located in the 1300 block of N. Davis Avenue near Lake Overholser in Oklahoma City.
According to fire officials, flames in the garage spread to the attic of the house. There were also two explosions inside the home, officials said. It's not known yet how the fire started.
One woman was inside the house when it caught on fire. She was able to get out and was treated on scene for smoke inhalation.
"I do know that EMSA was called and came to the scene and checked the homeowner out, " said Oklahoma City Fire Chief Dewey Schmidt. "She had some problems breathing. Everything is okay. She did not get transported to the hospital."
Officials estimated the fire caused about $395,000 in damage to the house. The house was deemed a total loss.
Oklahoma City fire officials say they had to call in additional resources because of thick brush in the area. No other homes were damaged.
